Bought the Long Sword (Wilson Wrap + Stabbing Tip) from Forged Foam approx 3-4 years ago. Its a great weapon! Most commonly used amongst my friends. However the stabbing tip of my weapon has been degraded and now the fiberglass core sticks out rendering it unusable. But a reblade kit can hopefully fix that! Aside from that, 4 out of 5! Definitely recommend for new players!

The Long Sword is one of the most versatile option for those seeking an all-comer blade. It can be comfortably wielded one-handed, one and a half, or two handed (though those with bigger hands might opt for the long handle). It can comfortably out range lesser sword options whilst retaining the ability to use shields effectively. It can also be dual-wielded with other weapons for those who like to use a long blade and another weapon.
For those who are of the smaller stature, this definitely can be a two-handed weapon!
Keep in mind that you probably want to take some of the options available to offset some of the downsides to such a versatile sword: a weighted hilt WILL help keep this thing from being top-heavy. My wife has one on hers and it makes a monumental difference in handling. It’s also nice to upgrade with a new grip as the rope can be rough on people with softer hands. Crossguards are nice and also help offset the weight imbalance. This awesome blade will be one of my flagships for a very long while!
Pros:
Versatile
Long
Sturdy
Good Leverage
Great for new players
Comfortable for most players
ForgedFoam quality build (as always!)
Neutral:
Can be hefty and top heavy (rectified with weighted option)
Grip can be rough without gloves unless you get the other non-rope options
Cons:
Potentially too big for those under a 5’6″ height (long broadsword would be a good alternative)
Not really much else so far!
